Indian education system is very great all thing is that government is failing in providing the equal education for all people. Schools in haryana are contesting strike to avoid 25% bpl families to take free education. When the literacy rate become 100% we will automatically become well mannered person.

This culture of rowdyness has emerged in the past 20yrs. 20 yrs ago, more people were uneducated in terms of schooling than today but there was more civic sense. People used to talk politely. There was respect for women and elders. Now, the youngers don't care about anybody even though they are more educated.

  • jyoti  - our culture
in our country men are worried about dresses of woman but they are not worried about what man should wear or behave. man is not behaving like a man. some says woman should wear salwar kameez becoz its indian dress and should not wear jeans skirts. but they don't think that pant shirt they are wearing is not indian culture dress it is actually adopted from english culture. the traditional indian dress for men is only dhoti kurta. so intead of advising girls on this foolish thinking why don't men start wearing dhoti kurta in offices public place every where then woman will start wearing salwar kameez or any traditional dress.

actually in india we praise for our culture but our culture is our enemy and our own people don't want success of each other. intead of improving themselves they use to comment on others.

very good jyoti m agree with u
  • Gopalji Sahay  - East and West culture
I think that every culture is enriched with some good and bad features.

Indian culture is rich and diverse and as a result unique in its very own way. Our manners, way of communicating with one another, even today, are one of the important and basic components of our culture. Even though we have accepted modern means of living, improved our lifestyle, our values and beliefs still remain unchanged. A person can change his way of clothing, way of eating and living but the rich values in a person always remains unchanged because they are deeply rooted within our hearts, mind, body and soul which we receive from our culture. I am proud of being an Indian and I cerntainly think that our culture and manner are teaching much more than any other culture in the world.

Western culture no doubt can also be referred to as advanced culture; this is because its ideas and values promote the development and sustainment of advanced civilization. Western culture has had quite an influence in india but it has its pros & cons too. There are many good things in the western culture which we have adopted. But why do we see only the negatives? Even the Indian culture has influence the western world. the globe is shrinking & we are all getting closer to each other in many ways. so its very natural for us to adopt their ways & for them to adopt ours

Western culture has affected almost every dimension of society. The core religious traditions are still the same but the life style differences can be found because of western culture. Hence we can say that western media has not affected the core traditions of indian society but has changed life style and apparent characteristics of the society.

  • gagan  - yes how well we undestand the dimension of the soc
yes you are right if they teach second grade student to stand in queue or respect the country but this is it. when we talk about personal relation they are way behind like ours country . they mourn on death in morning and in evening they celebrate with wines

they teach to stand in queue but forgets to teach to pay respect to elders they call elders with there names no Sir, no Uncle nothing simple SAM, SOPHIE, or F>>> Morning is enough!!!!! thank god we dont have it here. simple maths or science is not the question.

so india is always great will remain great forever so dont compare our country to others. since indian have respect in there genes not a subject that is to be taught.

yes we do behave wrongly in public but that is an outburst of a normal person who is trying to get his things done right and in time but our system is such that this is not allowed untill unless you put SOME EXTRA effort in it I mean (B....)

so dont blame the syllabus blame the system we have ............

Unfortunately, you have wrong information when you say they don't respect elders. Just saying Ji or Uncle after a name doesn't mean a person is respected. If you look at how old people are treated in India you will cry.

I have lived in US for 5 yrs and I know that in US everybody calls each other by first name. Even a janitor calls the CEO by first name and vice versa. That doesn't mean there is no respect. In fact, there is respect for the whatever work you do. In India, how do you treat house hold workers (bai as they call)? It is horrible. Even small kids say things like, "e bai idhar saaf kar". You call that respect?

Do you stop your car or bike when an old person is crossing a road? Look at any intersection and see what happens when an old person with cane tries to cross road. You call that respect?

Not just elderly, in India people don't respect even if the other person is physically less strong. In India, a strong person considers his "shaan" to push aside other people in line who are not as physically strong as him. Just look at how people step on each other while boarding a bus. In India, might is right. There is no respect for anything else. In US, even the president stands in line.

Please open your eyes and ears and don't just blindly accept things. Please don't mistake ego for respect.

There are several good things about India but this is not one of those things. Just because something is Indian doesn't mean it is always good or always bad. Evaluate it on its own merit and then decide.

    thank you.

America sikhata hai ki DEkho Baccho india me Chaye bechne wala bhi Prime Minsiter ban jata hai isliye chaye banana bhi seekh lena jaruri hota hai. lEKIN YE BHI YAD DILA DETA HAI KI aMERICA ME AISA NAHI HO SAKTA
  • dk singh  - Don't be ignorant
America me aisa already ho chuka hai. Modi ke PM banane se pahle. Obama was elected as president before Modi became PM. He is black. Blacks were and still are discriminated against heavily in US. He was not born to a rich father or mother. He was a normal guy from Chicago. Coming from that background, become the President of the US is most incredible.
But you are free to choose what you want to believe and live in a fools paradise.

I believe while making any law the enforcement should be taken care more than the law, I believe in US and other places, enforcement is so strong that people fear to break law.

I think we should stop bothering the education system and governmental policies etc. If we are talking about education ,parents should take initiatives to educate their child some morality and ethics of basic life now a days we are very eggar to follow western culture so children's are going in playschool when they should take care by parents and accumulating more wealth & fame changing the ideologies of mankind this is effecting our future generation so we should change yourself and have to take some initiatives .
